SANFORD, Florida - The 2018-19 season for the Women's Golf Team at Seminole State will begin like most have for the last seven years. The Raiders will return several All-American golfers, three to be exact (Tai Anudit, Karn Thantamnu and Sam Brimhall) and will look to blend in the talented newcomers to form another dominant season-long performance. Last year's team won five regular season tournaments, finished as National Runner-Up and set a school record for lowest scoring average.
SSC's challenging fall schedule will begin September 14th at the LPGA National Golf Course in Daytona Beach. The Raiders will be playing in the Lady Falcon Invitational, hosted by the defending National Champions, Daytona State College. Seminole State will then travel to Jacksonville on October 1st and 2nd for the Jacksonville (University) Classic at the Marsh Landing Country Club. Florida Atlantic will host the third fall tournament for the Raiders (October 15 & 16). The final fall tournament will be at the Marsh Creek Country Club for the Flagler (College) Fall Slam (October 23 & 24).
Coach Teno's schedule includes 54-hole tournaments over two days for three of the four events. "I like to have some physical (36-holes in one day) stress to add to the mental toughness of our team. There will be a lot of tough NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA teams at all of these events. Our kids can play top notch opponents and be seen by a ton of four-year school coaches."
Teno will also be hosting the Annual Seminole State College Am fundraiser on November 12 at the beautiful Legacy Club at Aliqua Lakes (https://www.heathrowcc.com/default.aspx?p=DynamicModule&PageId=341941&ssid=242931&vnf=1). Individuals teams or sponsors interested in playing and supporting the Raiders should contact Coach Christa Teno (firstname.lastname@example.org).
