LAKELAND, Florida - Hillary Kandie edge Yassin Raffay at the finish line as the two Raiders continue a string of impressive performances. Hillary ran the 8K in 27:14.00 and Yassin in 27:14.24. Both times were two second improvements over the season opener held on the same course. Amari Douglas, working on a return to form after missing the last two meets with illness and injury, finished 30th with a time of 35:39.67.

On the ladies side, the Raider's lack of depth hurt as the team ran with only four runners. The individual results were improvements over the first meet. Jaina Hawkins was the top Raider, 18th overall with a 22:09.43, followed closely by Sarah Kopack at 22:26.34. Both runners shaved over 30 seconds off their time from the Preseason Festival. Fancy Cheruyot placed 28th (23:13.54) and Abby Orlando notched the 40th position (25:53.59) for Seminole State.

The teams will have a recovery week before heading to Tallahassee for the FSU Invite on Friday, October 12th. The FCSAA Regional Championships will also take place in Tallahassee on October 26.
