SANFORD, Florida - Every baseball season has ups and downs, Seminole State's year was no different. While the team's ultimate goal of post season was not achieved, playing meaningful games late and a victory over the #1 ranked team in the nation (at the time) were just a few of the many positives for the year.

Seminole State Baseball 2018 review

  • Record 24-26 including a 17-12 record at The Jack (home)
  • Competed for Mid-Florida Conference playoff spot until the final week of the season
  • Defeated the #1 team in the country at the last home game
  • 9 graduating sophomores continuing their academic and athletic careers at 4-year colleges
  • 3 All Mid Florida Conference Players
  • 9 All-Conference Academic Team members (3.0 GPA or above)
  • 6 All-State Academic Team members (3.3 GPA or above)
  • 2 players with 4.0 GPA for the year
  • 1 Finalist for Bill Tuten Baseball State academic award
  • 1 State Pitcher of the Week
  • 1 National Pitcher of the Week
  • 1 No hitter thrown

About the Seminole State Raiders:

The Raider Athletics Department of Seminole State College was established in 1965 and initially led by Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach Joe Sterling. Seminole State currently sponsors five sports, all members of the NJCAA. Both Baseball and Softball facilities are located on College Drive on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus.  Kurt Esser is the current Athletic Director.

Athlete Spotlight Image
Tai led the Raiders to their second national title in 5 years. Anudit won the individual medalist award by shooting a -3 over 54 holes at the LPGA International Hills Course.
