SANFORD, FL — As the spring semester begins, Seminole State Athletics and Nirvana Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Clinics are proud to announce they have partnered to provide athletic training health care services to their 70+ student athletes. In addition, Nirvana Sports Medicine and Sports Medicine Clinics will team up with Seminole State College athletics to provide community education programs for team camps, as well as on campus education programs for Seminole State College students, faculty and administration. Courtney Quinn will serve as the Raiders Athletic Trainer (Bio: 

“We are extremely excited about our community partnership with Seminole State College athletics, this provides us with a unique opportunity to lead their sports medicine team utilizing a medical-model in providing healthcare services for their students-athletes, as well as provide educational programs for their faculty and staff  ” said Marisa Brunett, MS, LAT, ATC, Director of Outpatient & Community Services for Nirvana Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Clinics. Brunett is no stranger to Seminole State College Athletics as she previously worked with their administration to bring athletic training services onsite over 15 years ago.  “Our goal is to provide their student-athletes with the best team of health care professionals and provide the highest quality athletic health care services during their time at Seminole State College to help them get to the next level in their playing careers.”

Nirvana Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinics community partnership will also allow Seminole State students the opportunity to job shadow in their clinics throughout central Florida. In addition to the athletic program, they have been involved for several years with Seminole State College’s Physical Therapy Assistant program providing internship sites for their clinical rotations. These opportunities allow Seminole State College students to gain a better look into various careers in rehabilitation clinics by integrating career-based learning and real-world workplace experiences to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in college and career. By making education a personally relevant, engaging experience, Nirvana shows students exactly how their education can lead to their next academic stage or career steps.

  • The 2018 Softball team finished 52-15 and has won 105 games over the last two years
  • Coach Courtney Miller won her 1,000 game during the 2018 season
  • Seminole State is hosting the NJCAA Region 8 Softball Tournament, May 2-5, 2019
  • Seminole State Golf has finished in the top 3 in the Nation for the last 6 years including 2nd in 2018
  • The 2018 Baseball team finished 24-26 including a 17-12 record at home

About the Seminole State Raiders:  The Raider Athletics Department of Seminole State College was established in 1965 and initially led by Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach Joe Sterling. Seminole State now sponsors five sports all competing in the NJCAA Division I.
