SANFORD, Florida - The Seminole State Baseball team was in the Mid-Florida conference playoff for the first time a half a decade. Through 5 innings, it looked like the Raiders might be making the next step, which would have been a three game series vs. second place Santa Fe College. The winner of that series would have advanced to the FCSAA State Tournament. However, the Vikings erupted in the sixth inning, plating 9 runs and all the wind was out of the Seminole sails.

St. Johns got on the board early with a sacrifice fly in the second inning. Alejandro Figueredo homered with Corey King on and the Raiders surged to the lead in the bottom of the third. SSC knocked out the MFC Pitcher of the Year, Elijah Gill in the fourth. Seminole Ace, Louis Davenport was throwing well and things were on cruise control until the sixth.

Seminole State finished the season 35-14, the most wins since 2005. A complete season recap will be forthcoming.
