STANFORD, Florida - Every year is a great year to be a member of the Seminole State Women's Golf team. The Raiders have finished the season ranked in the top 3 in the nation every year since 2009. This season, the team achieved a whole new level of great, shattering long standing scoring records. The school scoring record and tournament win record fell and the team surpassed a level of excellence that has the attention of all the best NCAA Division I schools in the country. Finishing second to rival Daytona State (again) at the National Championships, it is obvious that is is a two-team race for dominance in NJCAA Women's Golf.

Team Highlights:

  • Five tournament wins
  • Lowest ever team scoring average of 299
  • Ranked second in the Nation
  • Five Student-Athletes earned All-American status
  • Lowest tournament score 277 (11 under par)
  • Lowest tournament total 566 (10 under par)
  • Three players finished their year ranked top 10 in the country
  • Both graduating sophomores, Alex Naumovski and Erica Chiang signed scholarships at Division I schools

Individual Accomplishments:

Erica Chiang (lower, right)

  • Ranked third in the country
  • Two tournament individual (medalist) wins
  • 72.9 scoring average
  • Half of Erica’s tournament rounds were par or better
  • Signed a full scholarship with Baylor University

Tai Anudit (upper, right)

  • Ranked 2nd in the country
  • Four tournament Individual wins
  • 72.1 tournament scoring average
  • Shot 66 (SSC scoring record) four times during the year


  • 4 student-athletes were named Mid Florida Conference Scholar-Athletes (3.0 and above) - Brigitte Clements, Alex Naumovski, Erica Chiang and Samantha Brimhall
  • Team GPA for 2017-18 is 3.05

  • The 2017 team finished 2nd at the NJCAA Championships in Duluth, GA
  • Seminole State Golf has finished in the top 3 in the Nation every year since 2009
  • Coach Christa Teno was inducted into the NJCAA Golf Hall of Fame in May of 2017

About the Seminole State Raiders:

The Raider Athletics Department of Seminole State College was established in 1965 and initially led by Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach Joe Sterling. Seminole State currently sponsors five sports all members of the NJCAA. Both Baseball and Softball facilities are located on College Drive on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. Kurt Esser is the current Athletic Director. 2018-19 will be Esser's third year at the helm.

Tai led the Raiders to their second national title in 5 years. Anudit won the individual medalist award by shooting a -3 over 54 holes at the LPGA International Hills Course.
