TALLAHASSEE, Florida - On a course that was soaked and taking on more water as the rain was steady, Hillary Kandie and the rest of the Raiders showed no concern. The Freshman from Kenya set the FCSAA record for the 8k event (26:41.4) and won the Runner of the Year Award. Yassin Raffay (26:51.2) was the runner-up and Amari Douglas (30:18.9) improved on his best time by 5 minutes and finished in the top 10 by placing 8th.

The three Raider ladies ran their fastest times of the year. Jaina Hawkins was sixth (20:56.4). Fancy Cheruyot (21:03.9) improved and finished 2nd on the team and 10th overall. Sara Kopack placed 11th (21:10.7).

Coach Clark scheduled the teams recovery run at 7:30 AM on Saturday. Clark will be taking Kandie, Raffay, Kopack and Hawkins to the NJCAA National meet in Garden City, Kansas on November 10th.
