Women's Golf Not Resting on Second Place Finish

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida - The Seminole State Golf team continued its hot start to the season at the Jacksonville Classic on Sunday and Monday.  The team finished second to the host Dolphins carding a three round +33. Three Raiders finished in the top 20, led once again by Worapitcha "Tai" Anudit.  Tai fired an even par, 216 for three rounds, one shot out of the medalist spot.  Alex Naumovski and Erica Chaing finished tied for 13th and tied for 18th, respectively. Alex shot 226 (+10) and Erica finished with 228 (+12). For complete scores:

Seminole State finished three shots clear of defending NJCAA National Champion Daytona State also beating 11 NCAA schools.

The Raiders will next participate in the Xavier University tournament. SSC will not have to travel to Ohio though, Xavier will be hosting their tournament on the Hills Course at LPGA National in Daytona. The three round tournament will take place Friday through Sunday (October 6 - 8), with a practice round on Thursday.

  • The 2017 team finished 2nd at the NJCAA Championships in Duluth, GA
  • Seminole State Golf has finished in the top 3 in the Nation for the last 6 years
  • The team has two starters from last year's squad, plus one red-shirt sophomore and four incoming freshmen

About the Seminole State Raiders:

The Raider Athletics Department of Seminole State College was established in 1965 and initially led by Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach Joe Sterling. Seminole State currently sponsors three sports all members of the NJCAA.
