SANFORD, Florida - The 2022 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Woman’s National Junior Golf Championships are heading to Central Florida.

Seminole State College and Seminole County are co-hosting the event which will take place at Timacuan Golf and Country Club in Lake Mary, May 9-12, 2022.

The NJCAA, founded in 1938, is the governing association of community college, state college and junior college athletics throughout the United States.

The national championship will feature more than 100 of the top Junior Collegiate woman’s golfers from 20 teams across the country.

“On behalf of Seminole County, we are thrilled to have been selected to co-host the 2022 NJCAA Woman’s National Junior Golf Championships with Seminole State College,” said Danny Trosset, Director of Sports- Orlando North Seminole County Sports. “We look forward to working with Seminole State in providing a memorable and first-class experience for the athletes, spectators, and all of the visitors who will be attending this event.”

“This is exciting news for the College, Seminole County, and the Central Florida region,” said Kurt Esser, Seminole State College Athletic Director. “This could not have been possible without the phenomenal work of Orlando North Seminole County Sports and Timacuan Golf and Country Club.”

The event is expected to have an economic impact of more than $200,000, surpassing the $175,000 that the NJCAA Region 8 Softball Championships held in May 2018 at BOOMBAH Soldiers Creek Park in Longwood.
