OCALA, Florida - The Raiders (39-9. 11-4 MFC) were swept for only the second time this season, as they dropped both games 8-0 and 5-1 against the College of Central Florida (42-9, 15-2) on Thursday in Ocala. The Raiders were shut down offensively, as they only managed 5 hits on the day.

Game 1

CF took an early 1-0 lead on a solo homerun of starter Kyra Gipson (18-5). They added another run in the 3rd and 2 more in the 4th on a 2 run homerun. The game was run ruled in the bottom of the 5th inning. The defense committed a costly error with 1 out, which allowed the Patriots to load the bases. After a force at home for the second out, a deep flyball to leftcenter was dropped at the warning track and the Patriots scored 3 runs to end the game. The Patriots scored 6 of their 8 runs on 2 outs.

Gipson allowed 6 runs (4 earned) on 9 hits. Gabi LoPresti gave up 2 runs on 1 hit in relief work. Meghan Sexton and Payton Germer were the only players to get hits in the game.

Game 2

The Patriots again hit a homerun in the first inning to jump out to a 1-0 lead.  They added 2 more runs in the 3rd on a 2 out double.  All 3 of the runs came with 2 outs in each inning.  The extended their lead to 5-0 in the top of the 5th.  The Raiders tried to mount a rally in the 7th inning but could only get 1 run across and left runners at second and third to end the game.

Kiana East (11-3) took the loss.  She went 4.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. Tatiana Rodriguez pitched the final 1.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits. Chelsea Peace, Haley Hinz and Tati Rodriguez had the only hits for the Raiders.
