SANFORD, Florida - Goals are an important thing in athletics and they certainly are important in academics. When Director of Athletics Kurt Esser arrived a year and a half ago he set stated the academic goal of a 3.0 Grade Point Average for the entire department. Now, three semesters later, the Student-Athletes scored a combined GPA of 3.07.

"This was achieved through the hard work of our kids, faculty, coaches and staff," mentioned Esser. "Our mission is to develop Raiders for their next steps in life, what better way to do that than giving them tools to succeed. What we continue to talk about is always getting better, doing the little things and finishing."

The department GPA was boosted by 8 Student-Athletes who achieved a 4.0, five from softball (Keri Allen, Kayla Casella, Payton Germer, Taylor Langworthy and Ashe-Leigh Wells) and three from baseball (Stuart Rodriguez, Tim Dixon and Scott Fickas). Over 62% of the Raiders hit 3.0 or above.
