2019 Raider Celebration Awards Recap

SANFORD, Florida - The Seminole State Athletics Department held the Annual Raider Celebration on Thursday night. The Raiders have a lot to celebrate. All three spring sports are ranked in the Top 20 of the NJCAA and are competing in Post Season. Additionally, 21 of 25 graduates are receiving athletic scholarships from 4-year Universities. The other four are heading to nursing schools. 

Award winners for the year are as follows: 

  • Male Athlete of Year - Kobe Barnum (right)
  • Female Athlete of the Year - Chelsea Peace and Tai Anudit 
  • Mack Blythe Award (First-year Student-Athlete of the Year, Male) - Alejandro Figueredo (lower right)
  • Mack Blythe Award (Female) - Chloe French (right)


  • MVP - Chelsea Peace 
  • Most Improved - Taylor Langworthy     
  • Coaches Award - Kelsi Smith
  • Softball Excellence Scholarship ($1,500) - Chloe French

Women's Golf:

  • MVP - Tai Anudit
  • Most Improved - Nicole Stewart           
  • Coaches Award - Alex Giles   

Cross Country:

  • MVP - Yassin Raffay
  • Most Improved - Amari Douglas     
  • Coaches Award - Sara Kopack


  • MVP - Louis Davenports
  • Most Improved - Justin Holmes     
  • Coaches Award - Haden Erbe

About the Seminole State Raiders:

The Raider Athletics Department of Seminole State College was established in 1965 and initially led by Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach Joe Sterling. Seminole State sponsors five sports all competing in the NJCAA Division I.  Both Baseball and Softball facilities are located on College Drive on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus.

Warren is a Sophomore golfer from Lakewood Ranch, FL. In three events this fall she has finished T9, T6 and T25 for the Raiders. An All-American in 2018-19, Warren has committed to Florida Gulf Coast University.
