  • The first athletic event Seminole State College participated in was a Men’s Basketball game on November 24th, 1966. The Seminole Community College (as the school was known until 2009) team defeated Lake Sumter Community College 74-51
  • Seminole State College has won 3 National Junior College Athletic Association Championships
    • The Men’s Tennis team won in both 1982 & 1983
    • The Women’s Golf team won in 2015
  • In addition to the current sports Seminole State College participates in, Men’s Baseball, Women’s Softball, and Women’s Golf, Seminole State College has fielded teams in Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s Tennis, Bowling, and Track & Field in the past
  • 4 current Major League Baseball (MLB) players, played for Seminole State College:
    • Dee Gordon, currently with the Miami Marlins
      • 2015 National League Batting Champion
      • 2 time All-Star (2014 & 2015)
